Basketball - Lakers at Celtics
Tonight the Los Angeles Lakers travel to Boston to take on the Celtics in a rematch of the NBA Finals from a year ago.
Both teams are playing as solid of basketball as they could hope for in their recent games. The Celtics, after going through a tough stretch of games awhile back, are back in form having won their last 12 games. The Lakers are 8-2 in their last 10 games, but have a larger lead as the No. 1 team in the Western Conference.
This is the first meeting between the teams since the championship. The Lakers could have done with Andrew Bynum last year in the Finals and they would’ve loved to have his services again for the rematch. Unfortunately, Bynum suffered a torn medial collateral ligament just a few days ago and will be sidelined 8-12 weeks. The Lakers hope to maintain their comfortable lead in the Western Conference while Bynum recovers.
The Celtics, however, can’t really afford to falter much with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers hot on their tail. The Cavs are 8-2 in their last 10 games and seem to be more potent this year than last year when they took the Celtics to the brink of elimination in the conference finals.
The Celtics hold a 41-9 record while the Lakers and Cavaliers are both 39-9. The Cavs remain undefeated on their home court with a record of 23-0.
